Norma Hartford on Daisy

Taken in1948 on the Ives farm north of Stockton, Kansas.

The Story of Daisy as I Know It
by Norma Hartford Ives

Daisy's mother died shortly after giving birth, requiring that the little filly be bottle-fed. My husband (A.J Ives) was Daisy's primary caregiver, which formed a very close relationship between them. As soon as Daisy became big enough to ride, A.J rode her to the pasture when it was time to bring the cows back to the farm. Man (boy) and horse working together intensified the bond.

A.J's mother, Hilma (Fisher) Ives, made the remark that whenever A.J would come home from college, he would immediately go to the barn or pasture to see Daisy. A.J really loved his horse.

The picture of me on A.J's beloved horse was taken by A.J the summer after we were married (1948). Daisy knew her master's voice, so she turned to look at him as the picture was being taken.

These little grandchildren of Minnie Elizabeth (Libbie) Ives all lived on the Ives farm around 1930. Unfortunately the photo isn't labeled, but Aunt Joyce and I think their names are:
